HOW TO GET A GOVERNMENT JOB IN PAKISTAN

It has been observed that many candidates do not know how to get a government job in Pakistan. That is the reason I am going to share this information along with my experience to all new job aspirants. There is no science to get a government job. You just need to be a hard worker instead of intelligent. You need a guidance or a true path that may lead to boost your existing knowledge. It is pertinent to mention here that the jobs opportunities are less while the candidates are much more. Therefore, to get the government job you need to compete among the candidates. To get government job every aspirant have to pass through the following four mile stones.

  1. Search A Job
  2. Apply for Job
  3. Preparation for Job's written test
  4. Preparation for Job's Interview.
Let’s explain the above mentioned phases in detail.
  1. HOW TO SEARCH A JOB?

To find a job you have to read well known newspaper on daily basis or you may visit the following links once a week.

You may also visit Federal Public Service Commission once a month on Friday only that comes before the first Sunday of every month.

Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC)

  2. HOW TO APPLY FOR A JOB ?

In order to apply for the above mentioned job, you have to apply online in all public service commissions while application in hard copy are available on the website of the aforementioned testing services. Dispatch the form after duly filling to the concerned testing services on the advertised address.

  3. HOW TO START PREPARATION OF WRITTEN TEST?

There are two types of syllabus for different jobs. One is generic syllabus and the second one is professional syllabus. Generic syllabus means English, Pakistan Affairs, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Basic Math, Islamist, Everyday Science. Professional syllabus means Accounting, Auditing, Public Procurement Rules, Preparation of Pension paper etc. for senior auditor, Rules of Business 1972, System of Financial Control and Budgeting 2004, Civil servant act and rules, Secretariat Instruction etc. for Assistant Directors National Highways and Motorways, Public Administration, Structure of Federal and Provincial Government and Economic Issues in Pakistan for the post of Assistant Director Prime Minister Office. The approach of preparation to aforementioned syllabi is different. Most of the people think that they can't prepare themselves because they don't know the basics of aforementioned syllabus. My message for all of those is that I was same like you but i did continues effort and got success.

Now come to the topic how to start preparation. For English syllabus purchase a book namely "High School English Grammar" written by Wren & Martin. Furthermore, you may purchase English grammar book of any writer that you deem fit for you. For Pakistan Affairs I would like to recommend you the book "History & Culture of Pakistan" written by Nigel Kelly. Read these book from the pages first thoroughly. Clear your concepts, don't focus on MCQs. I updating all other topics and MCQs for Islamic Studies, Basic Maths, General Knowledge on this blog gradually.

4. HOW TO START PREPARATION OF INTERVIEW?

Before coming to the point it is pertinent to mention here that you have to prepare yourself for interview in a manner you prepare yourself for written test. As you know most of the interviews start from introduction. Majority thinks that introduction means telling the interviewer about your name, father name, resident address, siblings etc. Take a break and think for a while, that what is the importance of your name, father name, resident address, sibling etc. for the interviewers or for your jobs ? Is not it worthless ? If you say it is worthless than question emerges why they ask this question ? Now let me tell you no body wants what is your name, father name, residential address, siblings etc. Actually you perceive that question from wrong dimension. In other words you don't know what is meant by Introduce yourself.

Actually the "introduce yourself" means tell the interview panel what you are and how you deem fit yourself for the job. What are your strong areas ? What is the knowledge you have ? It means when you starts introduction, Your introduction must be related to your jobs description. Another important thing is that you must know well about what you are introducing.

For example if start may introduction as "I am Muhammad Zulqarnain Cheema". Then I must be aware of  the meaning of Zulqarnain. I also must possess knowledge about the king Zulqarnain whose name is mentioned in Holy Quran. I must know in which Surah and in which Para the name is mentioned. After that if I continue my interview as " I hail from Gujranwala". Then I must know the history and specialties of Gujranwala. If i don't know about the history and specialties of Gujranwala then I must skip expressing my hometown. When i don't tell the interviewers that I am from Gujranwala they will never ask questions about Gujranwala. Furthermore, while introducing "I hail from Gujranwala" they ask me specialties of Gujranwala. I tell them many specialties, but one of them is it contribute 3 percent in total GDP of Pakistan. If I tell this I must be aware of overall GDP of the country. If I don't know overall GDP of the country then I should not tell the interviewer in the introduction that it contribute 3 percent of GDP.

After that you must be aware of your academic area. As I did MBA finance. I must be well aware of   Finance, Accounting , Business Administration, Economics etc.
